Up to 10% of patients on a Durogesic DTrans patch for several weeks can develop withdrawal symptoms by the end of the 2nd or beginning of 3rd day after patch application.
It is important to distinguish between an inadequate dose and the rare occurrence of fentanyl withdrawal symptoms as the action taken in each case is different.
Please Note: Changing the patch earlier is not recommended in the summary of product characteristics of Durogesic DTrans. The licence for Durogesic DTrans is for patch changing every 72 hours.
