It is possible that you could be prescribed different types of patch e.g. matrix or reservoir patch.
To reduce confusion for the patient it is recommended that only ONE type of patch is prescribed during the time they are requiring transdermal fentanyl. This will ensure that the patient is supplied with the same type of patch throughout.
If you are supplied with a different type of patch at any time please speak to your pharmacist or your doctor about this.
