Glasgow Palliative Care Information Network
This website was originally funded through the New Opportunities Fund and administered by North Glasgow University Hospitals Trust and Greater Glasgow NHS Board.
Former Health Minister Malcolm Chisholm launched the website on the 16th of July 2003 at Bannerman's Pharmacy in Possilpark. The minister met with previous Project Manager John Sweeney, Information Officer Paul Corrigan, Pharmacy Manager Gordon Dykes and John Leiser, a patient receiving palliative care who has used the website regularly at the Prince & Princess of Wales Hospice. An image of this can be seen on the banner at the top of each webpage .
Like all websites this is a work in progress – it will never be absolutely complete. Information about services will alter. New services will be developed. Some projects will change, merge or disappear.
This site should give everyone the information they need whether it is for a personal or a professional reason. However, it is not a substitute for professional care. If you are concerned about a specific symptom or situation you should always discuss this with your doctor or nurse. If there is something missing from the site then let the Project Team know. You can help us add that information or correct it if it is wrong.Read about the project in the Internet Journal of Pain, Symptom Control and Palliative Care We will always listen to suggestions and can only improve the site’s content and usefulness by working along with users. We are also very interested in your opinions of the site. We will use them in evaluating how useful this project has been.If you have a view about the site then email us at info@palliativecareglasgow.info
We look forward to receiving your comments.
